What's actually different
- Novus only serves buildings it has wired
- oxio covers BC over Rogers West cable
- oxio: no term contract, $0 setup, modem lent
Excellent fibre, if your building has it
Novus is a Vancouver company, part of developer Concord Pacific's group, that builds its own fibre into apartment and condo buildings across Metro Vancouver [1]. It went contract-free for residential internet in 2021 and guaranteed pricing for three years at the time [2].
The limit is the building. Novus serves specific multi-unit buildings it has wired [1]; if yours isn't one of them, it isn't an option at all. Public review data is thin too: seven reviews on Trustpilot [3].
Where oxio fits in BC
oxio covers BC over the Rogers West cable network [4], so it works in houses and in buildings Novus hasn't wired. No term contract [6], and $0 activation, installation and shipping with the modem lent [5].
If your building has Novus fibre and you need symmetrical upload (big video uploads, home servers), Novus is a strong option. For everyone else, and anyone who might move, oxio travels with you.
