Shaw is Rogers now
Rogers' purchase of Shaw closed in April 2023. Shaw services were rebranded as Rogers, and in June 2025 the Shaw website was retired and redirected to Rogers [1]. If your bill still says Shaw somewhere, the company behind it is Rogers, and so are its price changes: two Rogers internet increases in 2026, the latest +$7 a month on certain packages from August 18 [2].
The CCTS now reports Rogers and Shaw as a single brand, which had the most accepted complaints in Canada in 2024–25: 6,485, or 27.4% [1].
The Western Canada angle
oxio rents the former Shaw cable network, now Rogers West, from BC to Manitoba [3]. That means a lot of Shaw/Rogers households in the West can switch to oxio on the same line into the house. You get no term contract [5] and $0 activation, installation and shipping with the modem lent [4].
Before you switch, check whether your Rogers (ex-Shaw) plan has a promo or guarantee end date, since active promos are honoured until they end [2].
